Yay, we're getting better!

The last month has been absolutely miserable, all of us have been sick! The last couple weeks have been especially bad, as we have all been the victim of a severe case of the flu, a nasty bug which has left no one immune! Even though I tried to disinfect everything, we were all slammed with the effects again and again. Needless to say, I have not been able to do any holiday baking! I'm hoping I can get a late start this weekend and still fit in a few tasty treats. I'll keep you posted with some of my favorite holiday goodies! I found a recipe that I haven't tried but looks ravishingly good! Here's the link to the recipe in case you want to try it!

More of the usual.

Yep, you know what that means, more of Caleb! Lately he has been saying 'go go go go go' when he doesn't want something or if he doesn't want someone to take him away from who he's presently with, it is so cute! That will definitely have to be the next video. If I can capture it just right! He also says 'gog' for dog (though he does know dog in ASL), 'mom', 'daa', 'oww', 'uh-oh', 'begit' (which we're not exactly sure what he means!), and can sign about 9 signs or so. He can't say too many words just yet, but he really hasn't needed to, we understand most everything he wants just by him pointing! As for eating, Caleb is sooooo finicky! He likes only 7 things: Chips, rice, some crackers, cheese and milk/juice, tator tots and apples. Not the best diet. I'm constantly worrying if he's getting enough, he only weighs 22 pounds!

Caleb is sick...

Caleb has been terribly sick the last week and half. He had a temperature of a 103-104 all last week with a horrible cold. The poor little guy coughs and coughs and doesn't know what to do with the flem, so he swallows the yucky stuff back down. I try to tell him to spit it out, but he just doesn't understand what I'm saying! On top of his awful cold, he has had the flu all day and night. Everything he eats or drinks comes up. Caleb has had 4 baths today and I have had 3 baths and 1 shower! Not to mention both couches, the bed, the crib and several areas (not just spots!) on the carpet have needed a good cleaning today too! My heart just breaks every time he throws up. I hate that I can't do anything about it. We saw the doctor last Saturday and called the clinic and nurse again today, but I guess it's just a really bad viral infection, though they did call in some antibiotics. Last week and the start of this week have not been the greatest! ---I was able to catch this really cute picture of Caleb sleeping, doesn't he look like an angel?! You'd never know he was so sick!

Snow in Seattle!

Yep, it really snowed here in Seattle! We usually get about one snow storm a year. Luckily this time the snow was followed up by rain and not the cold weather --turning the snow into ice. I love the snow, but here in Seattle they have no snow plows for the streets! Of course they do for the highways, but trying to drive anywhere else is crazy! Little Caleb and I actually got in an accident last year because of the ice, so I definitely do not like it when it snows and gets really cold! Although the snow yesterday was beautiful. We loved watching Caleb's reaction to the snow. He would put his hand out in the sky, let a few snowflakes fall in his hand, then pull his hands in to sign 'more', then put his hands out again to repeat the same process. Completely adorable! Of course everything Caleb does is cute and adorable. :-) I'm attaching a video of Caleb playing in the snow, it's a good one! He does even a little sign language for you to see as well! Sorry this blog is going to be a short one, I'm just exhausted from being sick and working this last week and having to teach today. I promise to write more really soon!

Here are a few other pictures as well! By the way--John just flew to Utah tonight to interview at the VA in SLC tomorrow and has an interview at the U of U on Tuesday, let's hope they go well!
