With all of my depressing news as of late, I thought I better put in a bit of fun! I'll first give you all a quick update of my house situation.
I spoke with the realtor last Wednesday. He called to speak to us about the letter we wrote him. I was taken off guard because his whole tone throughout the conversation was confrontational. He even got to the point where he was yelling in the phone, as I was trying to defend why we have all of these concerns. The realtor said he'd been in the house 50 times and never smelled smoke, yet everyone that comes to our house smells smoke right upon walking through the front door. The worst of the rooms is the third bedroom. That must have been the previous tenants master bedroom, it smells disgusting and everyone we take back there says so. I told the realtor to come back and see for himself, but of course he hasn't come yet. The realtor's secretary called today to say we could borrow an air machine that filters out the air. I've tried to tell them the smell is embedded in the carpet, the air machine will not be very effective if the source of the problem remains. I've called several 'renter's rights advocates' and they all have said we cannot break the contract if the contract does not specifically specify that the property is non-smoking. John and I have learned a ton from this experience. We'll be sure to make sure that clause is listed from here on out!
The other big problem was the water. The water had the strong sulfur smell, but due to a really nice family in the ward who came over and shocked our well (along with changing the dirty filter), the water smells great! Though the softener is still broken, I can at least be thankful for clear, good smelling water, what a difference! So that's where the matter stands for the present. Because the water has improved, I think I can be patient for a little longer. A BIG thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and concerns about this mess. I'm sorry for complaining so much! It's just tough being a stay at home mom, in a house that makes you nauseous! I took Caleb swimming yesterday and our towels we brought to the pool smelled like cigarette smoke, yuck!
Now for the positive!

On to more happy things! We had a really fun weekend! We had a BBQ on the 4th and went to see the fireworks in North Canton. We had the best seats for the fireworks, yet surprisingly, Caleb was bored after the first 5 minutes! I was able to sneak in this picture before he ran off...

On Saturday we went to a ward member's house for another BBQ and more fireworks. Because they live on a lake, we all went out on their boat to see the fireworks. Caleb had a great time trying to climb overboard, it was difficult to contain him! Saturday was a lot of fun as well. I had forgotten my camera, which I'm really sad about, there were tons of really beautiful and fun pictures I missed!
Then on Sunday I had a birthday! For anyone who is wondering how old I am, I am now the 27! I still have 3 more years before I hit the big 30. John looks so young, I'm just hoping I never look older than him. He's 29, but with his baby face he looks much younger! Thank you to everyone who called, sent me a present or a card in the mail, you made the birthday great!
I was able to take a few pictures of Caleb today. The pictures below show two things Caleb loves to do. To golf and to dance...
He has some sweet ballet moves!
