Well, the house is still not in order, so pictures of the inside will have to wait a bit longer! Instead, here are a few fun shots of picking raspberries today.
(Promise, Caleb's finger is not up his nose!)
The raspberry bushes were huge. Caleb was a good helper for the most part. Of course I couldn't resist making raspberry and a peach, strawberry & raspberry jam, yum! I also froze a few on a cookie sheet to save for desserts and smoothies.
If you look closely in the picture, you'll notice Caleb is wearing...
Batman underwear!
Yes, my little baby has finally turned into 'Super Caleb!'
What's difficult to see is his super-hero underwear in the above picture. We've been potty training for a solid week now! The first few days were a nightmare. Caleb had peed on everything, the bed, the couch, the floor (in multiple rooms), but I refused to put Caleb in a diaper (even amidst his screams of wanting one). We struggled for hours, him and I. I'd stay in the bathroom for up to 45 minutes, waiting for Caleb to give up the power struggle and go potty in the toilet. I was determined to win. I had tried everything, from potty charts, presents (which did train Caleb for going #2 in the toilet, he has been trained in this regard for the past month), gummy life savers and stickers. I was the nicest and sweetest mom, but to no avail, nothing was working. Until I traumatized him by making a really big deal of him going on the carpet and locking him up with me in the bathroom, not letting him out, until he went pee on the toilet. I know this sounds cruel and horrible, but I promise, nothing else worked! I only did this for 3 days and he was trained, we had no accidents starting the 4th day! Caleb now goes on the potty without me even asking him. We can even run errands now and not stay couped up in the house all day, worrying he'll have an accident. The only glitch is, Caleb refuses to go on anything but his potty seat, so I guess you can say we did compromise. We now take his potty seat with us wherever we go, and of course the lysol wet wipes! I haven't tackled night time potty yet, John wet the bed until he was an embarrassingly old age. I'm just praying Caleb is a light sleeper like me and won't sleep through! So far, Caleb has had 3 dry diapers out of 4, maybe he's ready, I don't think I'm ready if he's not though! That's a battle for super mom for another day!

Wow Misha, GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! I know its hard to put the smack down but it is soooo worth it! That is really impressive that he's kept some night diapers dry, Belize is still saturated in the morning and she's very heavy sleeper. Congrats!
Yeah for potty training! We are getting started on this too b/c Christian seems interested. Love the underwear! And the raspberries were huge! Bet the jam turned out delicious. How are you liking your house?
Ya hoo for successful potty training!! Sometimes you wonder who is training who?? Way to stay strong and not buckle under... Is he using the gum ball machine I sent him? Wow I couldn't believe the size of those raspberries... they looked delicious...
Super Caleb! He is so funny.
Your berries are beautiful, Mish.
