On the checklist of things to do before we leave Ohio, was a visit to Cedar Point, home to one of the most well known roller coaster rides in the world! Primarily for this ride right here, the Top Thrill Dragster...
Check out this link on YouTube to see a little clip of the roller coaster: Dragster!
This ride may not look all that incredible, but is was definitely the fastest and scariest ride I have ever been on! John and I waited forever, so we could be at the very front of the car, no one between us and the air whooshing past us at 120 miles (honestly, it was that fast!) an hour! We were told it was the world's tallest and fastest ride without the use of shoulder restraints. My face was seriously plastered. In the after shot pictures, John said I looked like I had plastic surgery about 20 times to get my face looking so stretched. As you saw in the picture above, you basically go straight up and then straight down, all going light speed fast, it was intense! We rode it a second time in the back of the car and it wasn't half so bad. Placement made a huge difference!
The roller coaster park even had a beautiful view of Lake Erie, these pictures were all taken standing in line. It was a bit chilly, but the sun was shining, we couldn't have asked for better!
I'm getting side tracked, yes it was scenic, but back to the roller coasters!
I know you can't see this picture too well, but those people are completely upside down going through that loop, their feet dangling in the air, pointing to the sky, this was the first ride we went on called 'The Raptor', loved this one!
John (the above picture) was a bit nervous, for a guy who feels queasy on an airplane, I was worried about how he would do on all of these crazy roller coasters. Look how excited he is for the first ride!
But then we went on the twisty twirly kind...
Next, the spinning up and side to side kind...
And of course the up up and up kind...

After about 7 more different rides, John wasn't looking as excited anymore (in fact his eyes look like he's about to cry, but he's still smiling)...and I, well I'm looking just plain scary with my hair rather wind blown (not to mention my scary smile that looks as if I'm getting some satisfaction out of dragging John from ride to ride!)!
We saved the last hour of the day for some fun carnival games. You can't go to a theme park and not play any of the games to win a prize!
This climbing one was really tough! We decided to stick to the games we at least had a chance of winning.
After a lot of fun, and a few too many games, we won ourselves some prizes! All in the effort to feel better about ourselves, in leaving Caleb at a friend's house for the day. We had to come home with something for him! Thank you Laurel and rest of the Arnold's for taking care of Caleb, it was so nice to be able to go on a date with John and have some fun!
You'd think I had won the lottery with my reaction to winning the prize of the orange monkey. Yes, John won the big ball and blue monkey, but I won the orange monkey all by myself, and on the first try! I couldn't believe I had thrown 2 out of three balls in the basket and neither could John or the game lady. My screams of excitement finally brought them both around to realize I had won the grand prize (for that game) with only $2, I couldn't have been happier, nor asked for a better way to end such a fun day!
Once we got home, I couldn't resist posing with my monkey for one more shot, I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was to win this thing! Definitely more excited about it than Caleb!
By the time we left, if we weren't feeling sick from all of the rides, we were definitely feeling sick from all of the fatty food. Chicken strips (fried with double thick batter for extra long, and a bonus of grease), oily french fries, ice cream and of course funnel cake. How can you say no to all of these fried foods, especially funnel cake!
We had a ton of fun at the park, but now it's time to stop playing and get serious about packing. We're leaving Ohio in just 2 1/2 weeks!!!
